Maintaining silver jewelry

As we all know, silver jewelry sooner or later oxidizes or darkens and loses its shine. Therefore, proper cleaning and maintenance are necessary.
Especially:
If silver is:
1. in contact with water or moisture
2. in contact with chemicals and various cleaning agents that are usually in every household.
3. excessive exposure to the sun
4. the process is especially accelerated by salt water.

Cleaning silver jewelry:
A few tips:

1. Regular Cleaning:
Use a soft microfiber or jewelry cloth to wipe your silver daily or after wearing it to remove oils, dirt, and sweat.

2. Gentle Soap Solution:
Mix warm water with a mild dish soap.
Soak the jewelry for 5-10 minutes.
Gently scrub using a soft-bristle toothbrush or cloth.
Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

3. Silver Polish:
For tarnished pieces, use a silver-specific polish.
Apply the polish with a soft cloth, working in straight motions (avoid circular rubbing to prevent scratches).
Buff the jewelry until it shines.

4. Homemade Tarnish Remover:
Line a bowl with aluminum foil and add a mixture of hot water, baking soda, and a pinch of salt.
Place the silver jewelry in the bowl, ensuring it touches the foil.
Let it sit for a few minutes; then rinse and dry

Storage Tips
Avoid Exposure to Air: Store silver in airtight bags or anti-tarnish cloth pouches to prevent tarnish.
Separate Storage: Keep silver pieces separate to avoid scratches from other jewelry.

Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or using cleaning products.
Avoid contact with lotions, perfumes, and hairsprays.
